What Are People Saying About The Hurt Locker?
I used to think that going to the gym was effective enough until I came to The Hurtlocker. Jeff’s training programs make you work muscles you never knew you had. – Mariah
I’ve belonged to a number of gyms in my day, but this one is by far one of the best. The environment is awesome, and the people are like family. Jeff is patient and works with everyone on form first and foremost, and knows how to push you on an individual basis to reach your goals. Biggest complaint is trying to find time to squeeze in 6 days a week, because every day is so different I don’t want to miss one – Carrie
No better place to train than here with Jeff Wass! – Michael
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is The Hurt Locker for me?
The Hurt Locker is and can be for everyone.Regardless of your skill level, we have a level of workout that is right for you. All exercises have a modification or a scalability to them for individual progressions. We have a mixture of beginners to advanced athletes, and we all work together as a team.
What Kind of Workouts Should I Expect?
We run, jump, pull, push, climb, squat, lift, press, carry, throw and catch. We believe in utilizing our entire body. We use kettlebells, barbells, bumpers, gymnastic movements, Olympic lifts, bands, sandbags, rings, rowers, medicine balls, dumbbells, and more.
We sweat, we work hard, and we have fun!
What Is The Class Structure Like?
Classes are approximately 1 hour. A typical Hurt Locker class starts with a warm-up and the first 15-20 minutes of mobility work. Finally the last piece of the puzzle is the group WOD (workout of the day). This lasts between 15-25 min depending on the day, and it’s led by a certified trainer, Jeff Wass.
How Long Does It Take To See Results?
This really depends on how hard YOU are willing to work. Someone that is dedicated and wants results instantly can achieve it fast. If you are willing to change your nutrition and start exercising immediately, then you could achieve results in a few weeks. The Hurt Locker members experience more energy throughout the day, better sleep, better focus, and less stress after a just few sessions.
Should I be in fairly good shape before starting at The Hurt Locker?
This is often a misconception about extreme fitness programs. Please do not let your current fitness level deter you from trying us out! All of our movements and workouts are scalable – meaning we can adjust them to your fitness level and ability.
How Will The Hurt Locker Improve My Athletic Performance?
Our goal is to make you a complete athlete by targeting all 10 general physical skills: Cardio- Respiratory Endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Speed, Power, Coordination, Accuracy, Agility, and Balance. Most traditional training methods only target a few of those skills. The most important part of this kind of traing for athletes is that we use functional movements, Olympic lifts, and gymnastics to propel you to the next level.
What’s The Difference Between Doing Workouts On My Own Or Doing Them At The Hurt Locker?
The most important part is coaching. Having a knowledgeable coach with you during your WOD will reduce the risk of injury, improve your fitness faster, and fix bad mechanics. You can’t see yourself while you train. This leads to bad form and bad habits. These problems will actually be harder to correct in the future.
A big part of The Hurt Locker community is the enviornment. Having a good base of positive people around you is the best environment to train in. Not only will you be pushed harder because of the support from everyone, but you will have a great time doing it.
